Star Trek: Starbase 777 - etd-science-labs

Sterling had not been fully expecting an away mission so soon after returning from his analysis off-base, but no matter. His job was important, and if he was needed, he would be there. Currently, he stood in the corner of the labs, almost completely still, as he went through all available knowledge on their current destination. Preparation was always necessary. Although he found himself hoping that he would not get viscera on his outer shell today.

Motherfucker supreme spotted. Iki had situated themself in the labs, attaching their little camera to themself to be able to document the mission. It was helpful for when they wrote their report later, and Saren hadn't seemed to mind at all when they'd just started doing this with no notice the last time they went on a mission, so they were just doing it again.

Eddie arrived to the science lab looking excited like a golden retriever ready to go on a walk. His first away mission after nearly a year on the station. He parked himself next to his partner in crime and began posing for the camera with the sole intent of annoying Iki.

"You look fabulous," Iki told Eddie in a tone somehow even more deadpan than their usual tone, not even looking up to see what their best friend was doing.

Despite his own feelings of past away missions, Paco will always take the opportunity to see new worlds and the people living there. With PADD on hand and a soft smile on his lip, Paco quietly and discretely made his way to the science labs, his expression brightened up a bit more as he saw Sterling in the corner as he made his way towards him.

Meret had come. For a few reasons that might not seem at first really relevant to her line of work. Most people regarded her as a simple biologist, zoologist, too specialized in a field with not much room for maneuvering, well that was far from truth. All of her research always had had two objectives: to primarily catalog insect species and then to apply the knowledge she gained on new technologies. So it came as a result that the Cardassian had accumulated a great amount of knowledge from other fields as she worked around with vessel designers, engineers and other scientists. Even on a mission that was not exactly centered around exploration, Meret could make herself useful. And another reason was simple: she needed to study the people she would probably work with in the future. How did those missions usually work? Who were the officers that would take the lead and be beamed down? What kinds of troubles this crew could find? All relevant, all new for the exchange officer that stood a bit aside from the others while still on her Cardassian uniform. It felt good to keep at least one thing familiar in all of this.

“Lieutenant Umali.” Sterling raised his head from the PADD he held, “I am glad to see you. I assume we will be serving together on this mission, alongside the others?”

Maggie scampered into the labs in a hurry, holding her PADD to her chest as she entered. Hopefully this away mission would go better than her last few! Hint: It won’t. “Sorry I’m late!

"Lieutenant Sterling, my friend!" Paco greeted with a smile. "Yes! We'll be working together on this one! I'm pretty excited! I read in the brief that Starfleet very seldom gets to interact with this colony, so I'm excited for the fieldwork of documenting their culture." Paco happily said, much more chipper than he usual compared to previous away missions he's been on. "Hi Maggie." Paco greeted her with a smile as she entered the labs. He wondered how Eyeo was doing? he would probably never know.

Rest In Power Eyo. Maggie waved at Paco as she entered. “I can’t wait. I’m ready for something less uh, serious that some of the prior stuff the stations done.”

“It will be an enlightening experience, surely.” He replied, nodding to both Paco and Maggie.

Maggie headed out to join the away team!
